Attendance Officers

Every school should have an attendance officer who will ensure registers are completed accurately and within a timely manner, follow up on pupil absence and ensure day-to-day attendance procedures are followed precisely. Our Attendance Team can fulfil this role within your setting to ensure that your school is meeting the legal requirements for monitoring attendance and absence.

Casework with Children & Families

Supporting you with early help assessments, casework, and parental engagement, our advisers will identify barriers to school attendance and punctuality. With links to multiagency partners and organisations, our independent advisers are well-placed to provide non-judgemental advice and support to families where school attendance is a concern. We will facilitate high-quality interventions and solutions, ensuring pupils get the support they need.

Attendance & Register Audits

Taking into consideration all statutory guidance and DfE expectations, our consultants will conduct a thorough and detailed assessment of your school’s attendance policies, practices and procedures. Our team can carry out Safe and Well visits throughout the year, working directly with pupils and families to overcome barriers to attendance. Visits can be scheduled during holiday periods to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils, signpost to any support or holiday activities, and remind families of important dates, routines, and expectations to prepare pupils for their return to school.

EBSA Support

Pupils with Emotional Barriers to School Attendance often require extensive support in order to access their education. We can support schools in implementing appropriate interventions, utilising child’s voice, parental engagement and support from multi-agency partners. With quality resources and toolkits developed by our Educational Psychology service, we will ensure staff have the knowledge and understanding of EBSA and how to support pupils and their mental health needs.

Support with Legal Intervention

In cases of unauthorised holidays or persistent absence, legal intervention may become the appropriate course of action to take, where all other support has been offered to families.
