Our Showcase Rocks concert on Saturday 9th July was a resounding success. Involving over 50 students from different secondary schools across the city, this was part of our first showcase event in two years after the pandemic and it felt really special to finally be able to come together again in person to hear live music.
For many students, this was their first in-person concert since joining their school and everybody was buzzing!
The venue was packed with an audience of over 250 people who enthusiastically applauded all performers. The event exceeded all expectations and everybody delivered exceptional performances. It was such a joy to hear such a wide variety of repertoire – from Indie Rock, Punk and contemporary pop. Not to mention the young people we had DJing sharing their diverse musical tastes from the electronic music spectrum.
It was also clear to see all the hard work that had gone into the performances. Although this concert was a first for many, it was also the last for some. Some of the groups were Year 11 students and it was a pleasure to see them share their skills on a stage before moving on to their next chapter at A Level and beyond…
A big thank you to everyone who came and supported the concert and to all those who made this event possible. It is fantastic to see music across Manchester Schools thriving!
