The Y6 Literacy Network meetings give Y6 teachers the opportunity to gain valuable insights from experienced school leaders, moderators and DfE curriculum advisors.
The network will take place once a term and will ensure teachers are up to date with current DfE recommendations whilst gaining knowledge and skills on invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Session 3 – 22nd May 2025
The Y6 Literacy Network Meetings for 2024-2025 will focus on:
- DfE and National updates
- Latest research and how to effectively apply it to practice
- Supporting and improving standards
- Embedding English across the curriculum
- Developing knowledge and skills
- Practical ideas to teach Reading, Writing and GPS effectively
- Sharing good practice
- Networking opportunities
A network event can be attended as a single event but attending the three meetings throughout the year will allow for delegates to build upon their knowledge and skills whilst gaining invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Delegates will receive a resource pack and be encouraged to complete a follow up task between sessions to embed new ideas into their practice.
