From 26 October 2024 all employers will be required to proactively prevent Sexual Harassment of employees whilst they are at work by taking reasonable preventative actions. This training will explain what the new rules are and what school leaders need to do in order to understand and comply with the new legislation.
The training will also explore the implications if the school fails to carry out its duties, including the Employment Tribunal’s power to uplift compensation in the event of a successful claim by up to 25% and the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s new powers to enforce the new duty.
We will also discuss the existing framework relating to Harassment generally under the Equality Act and provide best practice advice on how to prevent harassment from occurring
in the educational establishment.
Through the use of case-studies, we will tackle how to manage and deal effectively with Harassment complaints. This will include how to detect Harassment in the workplace and
how to respond to complaints of Harassment.
We will also highlight the importance of effective policies and procedures and critical steps to take following an Harassment investigation.
