Single Central Record (SCR) Management

This briefing will equip staff with the knowledge and skills to ensure that the required safer recruitment and pre-appointment checks are conducted and that a record of those checks are recorded and maintained, in accordance with statutory guidance and best practice.

The session will provide practical advice in relation to both the pre-appointment checks required and the maintenance of your establishments Single Central Record. It will also cover why checks are required, who they apply to and which individuals need to be recorded on your SCR.

The aim of the session is to ensure that those with the responsibility for your SCR have a clear understanding of its purpose and format so that they have the ability to confidently discuss and explain the schools SCR as required, including during Ofsted inspections.

Who is it for? 

This briefing session will benefit all staff who have a responsibility for carrying out and recording pre-appointment checks and/or updating and maintaining the schools single central record (SCR).
