An update regarding key messages from STA and the local authority regarding Reading, Writing and Mathematics at the end of KS1. The course will also explore best practice in Y2 now that assessment and reporting arrangements are no longer statutory.

The training will cover:

An update regarding key messages from STA and the local authority regarding reading, writing and maths
Using the Teacher Assessment Framework and making accurate assessments of pupils’ writing
Making best use of the STA’s training materials for Y2
How to prepare for internal and external moderation

What to do now KS1 statutory assessment is no longer statutory.

There will also be an opportunity at the end of the session for staff to discuss, with moderators, samples of work for pupils for whom they are finding it difficult to make assessments.

This course is free of charge for schools and academies in Manchester Local Authority. Limited to two places per school.

Please note: Places at each venue are limited so please do book early. ECTS and those new to Y2 who attended our training on November 19th do not need to attend.
