The Literacy Leader Network meetings give Literacy and English leaders a fantastic opportunity to work alongside others in similar situations, whilst using the knowledge and experience of the course facilitators to explore new research and best practice in whole school approaches.
The network will take place once a term and will ensure leaders are up to date with statutory expectations whilst gaining knowledge, skills and practical ideas to use to support their leadership. The content for each session will be adapted according to delegates’ needs and requested focuses.
Session 3 – 22nd May 2025
All Literacy Leader Network Meetings for 2024-2025 will include:
- Â Statutory updates from the DfE, STA and OFSTED
- Â Latest research and how to effectively apply it in practice
- Â Best practice in leading Literacy across the school
- Â How to support and improve pupil outcomes across the whole school, including practical ideas and how to embed approaches throughout the curriculum
- Â Assessment and analysis
- Â Developing subject knowledge
- Â Sharing good practice
- Â Networking opportunities
A network event can be attended as a single event but attending the three meetings throughout the year will allow for Literacy Leaders to build upon their Leadership skills whilst gaining invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Delegates will receive a resource pack and be encouraged to complete a follow up task between sessions to embed new ideas into their practice.
