This July, Manchester City Council will be hosting their annual Achievement Awards for cared-for children and young people, an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding talents and achievements of those in the care of the local authority.
This year’s celebration takes place on Saturday, 13 July, at Gorton Monastery. There will be two ceremonies for each age group – one in the morning for primary aged children, followed by an event for secondary school children and care leavers in the afternoon. Every young person who has been nominated is invited to attend the awards ceremony with their carer and nominator.
Children in care have often experienced many challenges from an early age. As part of Manchester’s vision to become a child-friendly city, MCC aims to shine a light on the barriers they have overcome and the remarkable things they have accomplished.
The Achievement Awards will share the incredible stories of cared-for children and young people across the city, inspiring countless others with their determination and positivity. As stars of the event, nominees can look forward to a spectacular day that celebrates all their success, bigger and better than ever before!
As in previous years, One Education is proud to support this event in recognition of the importance of nurturing the potential within each and every child. This year, every child will go home with a goody bag to acknowledge their achievements. We have donated 120 water bottles, promoting an uplifting message of wellbeing so children can continue to achieve their full potential!Â
